BOOKING TERMS

I know how life can be, and sometimes things happen. I do my very best to accommodate changes and cancellations, however in some instances the following booking terms are applied:

A deposit is required for your cosmetic tattooing procedure.
At least 72 hours notice is required if you need to reschedule your tattoo appointment.
Changes or cancellations made to your appointment within the 72 hours prior will forfeit your deposit.

FAQ's

How long does brow tattooing last?

While it is suggested the procedure is refreshed every 18-24 months, it solely depends on each client. Realistically, brow tattooing can last anywhere from 12 months to 4+ years. Some brow tattoos fade faster than others due to skin, lifestyle and pigment factors. It also depends on the intensity of colour and depth clients wish to maintain.

What do I need to know about what happens after?

Please follow all After Care advice given to you. Note that skin irritation and/or redness will subside about 2 hours after the appointment. While the eyebrows will look darker immediately after the procedure, they will start settling after two days. Please do not pick scabs when they start to form.

Is brow tattooing safe during pregnancy?

While there are no known reasons or reports of adverse reactions, as a precaution we do not recommend having your brows tattooed while pregnant.

Can you touch up my brows if another artist has done them?

Ideally we prefer your brows to be very faded before we work on them if they've been done previously by another artist. Please send us photos prior to booking and we can advise. Touching up another artists work takes additional time and we can't guarantee we will be able to achieve the look you want. In some cases, laser removal is the best option. Book a consultation and we can discuss all of this with you.

How much earlier before a major event should I book in?

We recommend having your brows tattooed at least 6-8 weeks before any major event.

Can I wear makeup after my brow tattoo?

Makeup can be worn around the brow, but not over top for at least 10 days after (or until the scab is off). Be sure you clean your brows after you remove any makeup.

How will my shape be chosen?

The shape of the eye, bone structure, skin tone, hair colour and personal preference will be taken into consideration when determining the brow shape. The brows will be measured out first and this can sometimes take between 45-60 minutes to ensure we achieve the perfect shape.

BROWS

BEFORE CARE

If you take any acne medication, please consult with your doctor as we require you to stop using the medication 6-12 months prior to your appointment.
Botox can only be performed two weeks before or after your tattooing service.
Please do not take any nurofen, aspirin, or anti-inflammatories 24 hours prior to your appointment. These medications thin your blood and could affect your colour retention as you will bleed more.
Do not sun tan or go to a tanning bed prior to your appointment as a burnt face can affect your treatment.
Do not have any microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin needling or anything else invasive to your skin done within the two weeks prior to your appointment.
Please inform me upon booking your appointment if you are takin any medications that could affect your treatment, or you're unsure of.
You must advise me if you have had your brows previously tattooed as you will need to have a consultation first.

AFTER CARE

An after care pack will be provided for you on the day of your appointment with instructions to follow.
For 3-4 weeks after the procedure, you should avoid pools, sunbathing, tanning beds, saunas, chemical peels, laser peels, excessive washing, rubbing and scratching the area.
Sleep with a fresh pillow case.
Avoid sweating and applying makeup around the brow area for 5-10 days after.
Superficial healing time for brow tattoos is around 14 days, however full skin healing takes 30+ days.
Please note your colour can fade up to 50% during your first tattoo application, therefore a touch up visit is necessary.
Touch up appointments can be booked 6-12 weeks after your initial appointment.
Do not pick any scabs that may form as this will cause the colour to drop out.

SKIN NEEDLING

Before Care

Prior to a skin needling appointment we recommend quality topical skin care to help ensure you get the best results. Vitamin A, C & E are the building blocks for good quality collagen formation. We suggest starting on the Prologic Level 1 moisturiser.
At least 2-3 weeks prior to your appointment start taking Omega 3 fish oils, and continue on with the supplements.
Use an LED face mask at least twice a week for 2-3 weeks prior. This primes the cells to have sufficient cell energy to perform well in the proliferative phase. This is where collagen type 3 is formed (baby collagen) which is then converted to collagen type 1.
If you have any auto-immune disorders, please seek doctor's approval before booking your appointment.

After Care

During the inflammatory phase (1-3 days post-treatment) the skin will feel sensitive. Care must be taken with home care to avoid over stimulation.
Avoid Retinol, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid form) acids including salicylic, glycolic, lactic for 3 days.
Wear SPF 30+ sunblock daily. We recommend the O Cosmetics Mineral Pro SPF 30.
We recommend an enzymatic exfoliation 2-5 days post treatment to remove redundant skin cells. Book your Enzyme Therapy Facial here.
If you use an LED mask, wait 3 days.
Do not have any Botox/injectables/cosmetic tattooing at least 2 weeks either side of your treatment.
Do not use any self-tan at least 7 days either side of your treatment.

ALKALINE TREATMENT

General Care

We recommend booking your alkaline treatments at least 6 weeks apart.
Wait 3 weeks after skin needling before having an alkaline treatment.
Do not have any laser treatments at least 4 weeks either side of your appointment.
If you’re having any microdermabrasion or dermaplanning, wait at least 2 weeks after your appointment.
Avoid Retinol, Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid form) acids including salicylic, glycolic, lactic for 3 days after your treatment.
Wear SPF 30+ sunscreen every day. We recommend the O Cosmetics Mineral Pro SPF 30+.

FAQ's

Is there any down time required after skin needling?

A skin needling procedure is minimally invasive and requires little downtime. However it may cause mild redness, swelling and sensitivity for 12-48 hours after. Most clients are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Light swelling is very normal when you wake up after needling.

In general, redness and light swelling afterwards is normal and should subside within a few days, but may last longer for some individuals.

Is skin needling safe?

Skin needling is generally considered safe, however individuals with certain skin conditions, active infections, or a history of keloid scarring may not be suitable candidates for this procedure.

Some individuals may experience discomfort or pain during and after micro-needling. Following post-procedure care instructions and avoiding sun exposure are important steps to promote healing and reduce the risk of complications.

Can I have skin needling done if I am pregnant?

As we don't use any topical anaesthetic, skin needling is safe to have done while pregnant. The only facial treatment of ours that is not suitable while pregnant is the alkaline treatment.

How many skin needling sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required to see noticeable results from skin needling can vary depending on various factors, including specific skin concerns. Improvements may be noticeable after 4-6 session spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. After achieving the desired results, maintenance sessions may be recommended. These are usually every 3-6 months or so.

LIPS

BEFORE CARE

If you suffer from cold sores you will need to take antiviral (Zelitrex) tablets starting the day before the procedure. Causing trauma to the lips will resurface the virus.
Taking a Lysine vitamin two weeks prior to your appointment can help.
Do not consume any alcohol, pain relief or caffeine within the 24 hours before your procedure.
We recommended refraining from taking any medication or pain relief that contains blood thinners. If you're on a prescription for medication of this sort, please consult with your doctor.
After the treatment your lips will go through stages of darkness, lightness and possible flaking. Please keep this in mind when you make your appointment.
Lightly exfoliate your lips 1-2 weeks before your appointment.
Avoid excessive exercise or sweating on the day of your appointment.
Apply Nappy Rash Bepanthen every day for two weeks prior to your appointment. This will help the lips to retain moisture and make implantation of the pigment easier.
Any botox or fillers should be done two weeks before or after your appointment. No sooner or later.
Research lip colours you like and bring some photos so we can discuss achieving the perfect colour for you. Feel free to bring in your lipstick and we can try to colour match too.

AFTER CARE

An aftercare pack will be provided to you at your appointment with instructions to follow.
After your appointment apply ointment several times a day, and keep your lips moist and clean at all times.
During healing, avoid oily, spicy and heavily seasoned food, and drink with a straw.
Clean your lips after every meal, then re-apply ointment.
Avoid swimming for 2-3 weeks.
Don’t wear any makeup and avoid excessive sweating for 4-6 days until the scab has come off completely.
Note that the colour will fade 30-40% within 5-6 days.
A touch up is required 9-12 weeks after your initial appointment.

Is lip tattooing safe during pregnancy?

While there are no known reasons or reports of adverse reactions, as a precaution we do not recommend these procedures during pregnancy.

How much earlier before a major event should I book my lip tattoo?

Due to the stage of healing, we recommend undergoing the procedure at least 6-8 weeks before any major event.

How will my lip tattoo colour be chosen?

We will discuss colour options with you when you arrive. Feel free to bring your favourite lippy or any inspo photos for us to colour match with.
